White Design have been involved with the urban realm and landscape proposals for the expansion of Ashton Gate Stadium. The scheme involves redefining the spaces and routes around the stadium and informing a public arts strategy for the site.
As part of the design process White Design produced a feasibility study which set out a series of key design principals. These were explored and used to inform the detailed design prior to planning.
Features include a shared space route through the site using a simple palette of surface treatments which help to identify entrances to the stadium. This is complemented by site specific street furniture which provides a define boundary treatment to an existing brook, a informal seating edge and an opportunity public art.
