St Pauls Church is located in within the city centre of Bristol, and in 1997 the building became the responsibility of The Churches Conservation Trust, who together with Circomedia and a conservation team regenerated the building between 2001 and 2004 into a circus performance school and private hire venue. In 2010 White Design was commissioned by Circomedia and The Churches Conservations Trust to undertake a feasibility study to increase the washroom facilities with the Grade 1 listed building. In 2011 this led to White Designs submission for and receipt of successful Listed Building Consent to install two additional WC's into an existing alcove, which is due to complete in 2012.
In addition to this works, in 2012 The Churches Conservation Trust also engaged White Design to perform a Carbon Retrofit Feasibility Study at St Pauls, and also St Martins Church, Exeter and St Thomas St Thomas the Martyr Church, Bristol. Working with a small consultancy team, the final reports identified upgrades and new technologies that would help reduce costs and carbon emissions and act as the basis for funding.
