White Design has been approached by Sparkwell All Saints Primary School to assist in their application for funding to set up a new parent-led free school in the village of Sparkwell in South Devon.
Free Schools are all-ability, state-funded schools, set up in response to parental demand. The most important element of an outstanding education is the quality of teaching and Free Schools will enable excellent teachers to create schools and improve standards for all children, regardless of their background. These new schools will be academies, which are publicly funded independent schools, free from local authority control. They will be given the same freedoms as traditional academies. All Free Schools will be accountable like other state schools via inspections and tests.
White Design provided preliminary site analysis to help the client understand the possibilities of reorganising the existing assets on site, as well as identifying the need for any additional accommodation.
We are very excited to announce that the scheme was recently given the go-ahead to proceed to the next stage and White Design will continue to offer the school design advice as the project moves forward.
