Trelowarren is situated in the middle of the Lizard peninsula (lizard meaning high court) in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and is in the Parish of Mawgan – in Meneage (land of the monks) having a rich and varied history. It is the Trellewaret of the Domesday survey when Earl Harold owned the house before the conquest.
For almost 40 years, Christians have used this extraordinary place, seeing prayers answered and lives changed. Trelowarren Retreat exists to create an atmosphere that fosters:
The Creative Arts;
Divine healing of the body, soul and spirit;
Community outreach, founded on practical aid.
Working with the centre’s trustees, along with Ward Williams Associates (surveyors looking after the house and chapel), White Design have provided design advice for the sympathetic updating of the centre’s residential accommodation, ensuring the listed status of the building is fully respected.
